Preparing for madness…

We have tickets for TWILIGHT this evening along with our usual group of friends…and it's going to be crazy…

First off, Kim and I are coming from our work, our friend Jenn is coming from her work..and Stacy is picking all of us up at the same train station.

Then it's the 15 minute drive to our theatrical homebase, Showcase Cinemas in Revere. Once we get there, however, it's anyone's guess…no movie – not even the Harry Potter franchise – has produced the kind of rabid pre-movie buzz that this film has…and the place is going to be filled to the rafters with tweens and teens, mostly female, milling about…

Star Robert Pattinson, who experienced the angst of thousands of Twilight book fans signing a petition to protest his casting as all wrong for Edward when first announced,  has now been causing problems at mall appearances due to the huge crowds showing up to see him. An appearance here in MA went well last week, but in other parts of the country, it didn't go smoothly…

Co-star Kristen Stewart has seen a huge uptick in her fan mail since taking on the role of Bella…both those fans who can't wait to see it…and those begging her not to screw things up…

The midnight premiere SOLD OUT throughout the entire U.S. several days in advance, the first time that has happened in history…

No doubt fans will be queuing up for hours before their tickets are scheduled for, hoping to get the very best seats in the house…

When the weekend is over, TWILIGHT may very well have set a box office record, not just for November, but possibly for ALL TIME, if repeat business is brisk on Saturday and Sunday…

Yes, it's going to be a VERY interesting evening…and we'll have the full report on this weekend's edition of Subject:CINEMA, along with a complete review of the movie…don't forget to come by…and see how we survived the frenzy that is TWILIGHT…
