Hollywood Reporter, Billboard sold to new publishing conglomerate

e5 Global Media LLC, a new company formed jointly by private equity partner Pluribus Capital Management and financial services firm Guggenheim Partners, has reached an agreement to purchase The Hollywood Reporter , Billboard, and several other publications from the Nielsen Co.

In addition to The Hollywood Reporter, the other brands included in the sale by Nielsen Business Media are: Billboard, Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek, the Clio Awards, Backstage and Film Journal. e5 Global Media will also acquire the Film Expo business, which includes the ShoWest, ShowEast, Cinema Expo International and CineAsia trade shows.

This deal is a potentially landscape-changing one as the new company makes decisions on how each publication is presented.
