NY Online Critics virtually snub “Hurt Locker”, awards “Avatar” best picture

In a major upset, the film that has been running away with all the first round of critics awards this afternoon, The Hurt Locker, managed only Best Director from the New York Film Critics Online this evening. James Cameron's epic Avatar was named best picture.

A trend for the supporting catagories is beginning to develop, with Inglorious Basterds' Christoph Waltz and Precious' MoNique winning all the awards in the supporting actor and actress catagories given out today so far.
