AWARDS NEWS: Chances for an Oscar in the “locker” grow as New York Film Critics Circle names winners

"The Hurt Locker" lands another win, named Best Picture by the New York Film Critics Circle today.  That makes all but the New York Online critics in the Locker; they chose the sci-fi epic Avatar as best picture.

Also beginning to line up for possible Oscars are Meryl Streep as best Actress (all but LA so far in that catagory for Julie And Julia), and the sweep continues for Supporting actor and actress as Christoph Waltz and MoNique are once again named for their roles in "Inglorious Basterd" and "Precious" respectively.
