AWARDS SEASON: “The Social Network” takes National Board of Review best picture

The National Board Of Review has kicked off the awards season with their annual announcement of the best of 2010.

The NBR isn't really well thought of among film insiders – they are often referred to as a somewhat sycophanic group made up mostly of film students and non-industry professionals based in New York. However, they like to buck trends, and they are leading the way this time with two nods for the incredible Aussie import Animal Kingdom, and a nod to the unsettling and riveting documentary A Film Unfinished, both of which have been snubed thus far this season.
